In case there are any of you out there that still believe that the SCOTUS's decision was strictly (or "narrowly", as they have said) on certain women's health/reproduction options……..think again.

Their "Founding Fathers and Freedom of Religion" schtick is beginning to crumble and be exposed for exactly what is it: an inroads to a sort of fundamentalist taliban. (I am not even going to dignify them with capital letters.)

The originators of such things as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were a varied bunch, with differing views on religion and its role beyond personal belief. One quick source on the subject is http://www.archives.gov/nhprc/annotation/2002/2002-mar.pdf.

Nowhere in the list of the religious affiliations of these men is Baptist or Pentecostal or Fundamentalist even listed…these were later incarnations of Protestantism. (Notice the base word here….) Is it too far a stretch to see the beginnings of "free market" take root in some of these later denominations?  I apologize in advance for offending anyone. But, there used to be an old canard that went along the lines….."The missionaries went out there to do good, and they did very well."

And don't forget the Green's attempt at getting a Bible-based view of history pushed in our public school system.

You will notice that no large corporations jumped on the bandwagon in support of this. (And it is NOT only about contraception.) There is a reason for that:

And it's all about sticking it to the "arrogant" President…the one that is actually getting things done in spite of their hatred for him and those on the left. I do not think they have thought the consequences of this move through very well……as Justice Ginsberg has so eloquently stated.

Oh, those those crazy Republicans in Virginia. They know how to pull the wool over the eyes of the electorate and fellow Congressmen: simply wait till there is a federal holiday AND the inauguration of a new president....and pass a bill to rig, er, redistrict the state for the next election. And if one of the Democratic senators is in Washington that day, even better.

In The United States, a federal holiday is a legal holiday which has been recognized by the US government. Every year on a United States federal holiday, non-essential federal government offices are closed.....

No matter that the move is probably in violation of Virginia's State Constitution, where it is noted that redistricting is done every ten years.

I'm sure our that our ever-vigilant news media.....always on the alert for skullduggery in the political and public sphere.......will be on this like bees on honey. I mean, LOOK how they got right on the Beyonce' lip-synching scandal,  the fact that Hillary Clinton wore glasses to the Benghazi hearing, and some football player's imaginary (???) girlfriend's death (twice).

BUT after changing the channel hundreds of times, scanning the internet for several days, and looking through 15 pages of Google Search......I found that NOT ONE MAJOR NEWS NETWORK (ABC, CBS, MSNBC, FOX, CNN, TCN or the CARTOON NETWORK) even mentioned it. Gee, I wonder why.....

They are either sure their not-so-funny tactic will never be noticed, or they think the American public is easily fooled. DON'T BE SO SURE....

But, The Constitution Says.. The Republican Party just LOVES to spout the beliefs of our Founding Fathers when it's convenient for their cause. But it gets a little pesky for them sometimes when these same Founding Fathers put into place ideas that run contrary to Right Wing ideology. For example: The U.S. Constitution stated in Amendment XIX, which was ratified by the states in 1920: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation."

A CEO of a Florida resort company threatened to fire his employees if Obama won. The CEO of a timeshare company did the same. And the famous right-wing Koch brothers warned of “consequences” of not voting for Romney.

Arthur Allen, CEO of ASG Software Solutions, was previously exposed by Hayes as having urged his employees to vote for Mitt Romney for president. A new email from Allen shows he encouraged employees to donate to Romney to "help ASG and yourself."

Employees of Koch Industries received a voter information packet this month. Included was a letter from the company's President David Robertson, warning that if there's a second Obama term, "many of our more than 50,000 U.S. employees and contractors may suffer the consequences ..

The CEO of Westgate Resorts, David Siegel, putting it bluntly: "If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current president plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company."

The head of the Murray Energy Corporation blamed the Obama Administration for recent layoffs at his company.

"Mike White, the chairman and owner of Rite-Hite, a major Milwaukee manufacturer of industrial equipment, wanted to be sure his employees understood what he feels is at stake in the presidential election.

In an email sent this week to employees, White said his workers "should understand the personal consequences to them of having our tax rates increase dramatically if President Obama is re-elected, forcing taxpayers to fund President Obama's future deficits and social programs (including Obamacare), which require bigger government."

I have NEVER seen such blatant, in-your-face political scheming in my life...and I've been around a little while. The racism, hatred, bigotry, and plain old propaganda (fear tactics really) are being played out by the GOP...and they DARE you to do anything about it! As a matter of fact......they accuse the Left of doing it. And the media plays out this false narrative of "equivalency" which is totally wrong. But that's what money and Citizens' United will get you in today's political world.

Making The "R" Word Work

I know..this is 2012 and we are WAY past all that nonsense.......NOT. But apparently we've got a long way to go......or a segment of the population is not on the same road we're on. For example:

The latest is this, a political ad from an anti-Obama Super PAC:
