Everybody and their cousin seems to want Paul Deen tarred and feathered and her cooking empire crushed to the ground.........all on the basis of the MSM working just as the tabloids do: exaggerate, exploit, withhold a few details, and run with it.
Trouble is.....few people have actually examined what is going on here. Yes, the subject of racism is disgusting, BUT that is not what this is about, no matter how it has been presented. Racism is only the VEHICLE to achieve an end.

The deposition was taken in connection with a civil suit by Lisa Jackson, former general manager of Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House Inc. on Whitemarsh Island, which is operated by Deen’s brother, Earl W. “Bubba” Hier.
BUT somehow...the press forgot to mention this:

In Jackson’s deposition taken Feb. 11, she recounts how Dora Childs, an employee at The Lady & Sons, told her “probably sometime in 2010” that she felt discriminated against when a white male kitchen manager was promoted over her, adding, “and that Paula made racist comments.”
Deens’ attorney, Franklin, asked Jackson: “You have never heard Paula make a racist remark, have you?”
“Not heard it,” Jackson replied.
“You have never known Paula to discriminate against a person based on gender, have you?”
“I’m not aware.”
“And you have never known Paula to sexually harass anyone, have you?”
“Not me.”
Then there is also the bad blood between both sets of attorneys:
"In the motion to dismiss Billips (Jackson attorney) Mr. Withers (Bubba Hier attorney) quoted a tweet by Billips in which he said “suing Paula Deen is a hoot.”
This is NOT a discussion on her southern cooking....I grew up on it, but know it's not how to eat today. To say her drawl is phony...maybe, but have you heard MY relatives here in TN speak? To say her empire is too big, and she deserves to be "brought down"...why??? She worked her butt off for decades to get where she is today.
So...while all of you are out there posting barbs, reading articles on how much holier-than-thou WE are than these Southern idiots (one of the nicer terms I've heard), rejoicing in someone else's misfortune....I feel sorry for you. In the words of a very famous person..."Lord, forgive them for they know not what they do" ........because people today are too lazy to research. I think it has come to "We are all FOX."
